Penn Kemp

Poet, performer and playwright Penn Kemp has been lauded as a trailblazer since her first Coach House publication (1972), and a “one-woman literary industry” as London’s inaugural Poet Laureate and Western University’s Writer-in-Residence. She was the League of Canadian Poets’ Spoken Word Artist, 2015. Her latest book of poetry is Local Heroes (Insomniac, Spring 2018). Two new plays about local hero Teresa Harris followed her previous book of poetry, Barbaric Cultural Practice (Quattro, 2016).
